Behind the Camera
It's always about people.
I was born in Toronto, Canada, and photography has been part of my life since I was twelve years old. After months of shovelling snow and doing odd jobs, I finally bought my first camera—a Canon AE-1—and I've rarely been without one since.Photography has taken me on quite a journey. I've lived in Canada, Malta, England and now Germany, and every place has shaped the way I see the world. Different cultures, different faces, different stories—but wherever you go, people are wonderfully human. Perhaps that's what has always drawn me to photography. Not simply creating beautiful images, but discovering the people behind them. I don't believe the best photographs reveal how someone looks. I believe they reveal how someone feels.
A Camera Is Just the Beginning
For me, photography has never started with a camera. It begins with a conversation. With listening. With understanding who someone is and what they want their photographs to say. I enjoy every part of the process—from our first conversation and the shoot itself to carefully refining each photograph afterwards. I love seeing an image become everything I knew it could be the moment I pressed the shutter. It's never about changing reality. It's about giving every photograph the care and attention it deserves.
The Best Photographs Happen Naturally
One thing I've learned over the years is that the best photographs rarely come from telling people exactly what to do. They happen when people relax, forget about the camera and simply enjoy the moment. A conversation.
A shared laugh.
A quiet glance. Those are often the photographs people treasure most. Creating that atmosphere is one of my favourite parts of what I do, because when people feel comfortable, they stop thinking about having their photograph taken—and simply become themselves.
My Passion is Photography
After all these years, my favourite moment isn't pressing the shutter. It's seeing someone's reaction when they first open their photographs. The smile. The laughter. Sometimes even a few happy tears. Knowing I've created something that will become more meaningful as time passes is what inspires me every time I pick up my camera.
Perhaps We'll Meet Soon
Whether we work together or simply share a coffee and a conversation, I'd be delighted to get to know your story.
After all, the best photographs always begin with people.
